Yearly membership

 Individual = £15.00
 Family = £22.00

If you run in more than 2 open races in a year, it is cheaper overall to pay for a UKA "Racing License" as this enables you to enter races at a reduced rate.

The UKA Racing License fee is £5.00 (per person who races) per year and needs to be added to the Club membership fee.

About our Club

Spectrum Striders Running Club began as a new club in 1983.  We were formed by a group of enthusiastic runners living and working in Birchwood, in the north-east of Warrington in Cheshire.  Our original base was at the Spectrum Arena sports and leisure complex (now headquarters of "Betfred") which also gave the Club its name.  When we moved to our present base at Birchwood Community High School in 1987, we kept our original name.

Spectrum Striders RC is affiliated to England Athletics, the governing body which develops grass-roots athletics in England.

We now have over 200 members with a wide range of running abilities, from newcomers to county standard athletes.  The Club objectives are to promote running for everyone and the emphasis at the Club is on enjoyment as well as competition.  Our running affiliations include road, cross country, fell running and multi-terrain.

We welcome new members of all abilities in any of the disciplines.  We have a large number of qualified coaches who manage the training and we have a coaching structure that allows all members to run with a group of people of similar ability and aims as them.

While many of our members enjoy regularly competing in races, others prefer to run for leisure & general fitness and for the social aspects of running in a group.  All are welcome.

The Committee Report prepared for the AGM gives a good idea of the range of club activities.  Click here to download the report (in PDF format).
