2012 Grand Prix rules

Not all of the races are in the Striders Club Championships although most usually are.

[Please note that this Grand Prix should not be confused with the North Cheshire 5k Grand Prix series of 5k races, organised by Spectrum Striders RC and Altrincham & District AC.]

This Grand Prix includes a Club team competition, an individual competition and a handicap competition.  The best 4 races from 7 count for the individual, best 5 races from 7 in the team competition.  Men and women are scored separately.

To be eligible you just need to run for a Cheshire club who takes part in the Grand Prix.  Thus runners who live outside or were born outside the county are still eligible.

2011 Grand Prix

Liz Whitfield was 7th despite only doing 3 races (4 to count).  Colin Martin was again the highest Spectrum man, in 20th place this year.

Team positions were exactly the same as 2010.  Out of 17 clubs, Striders women finished 2nd and Striders men were 5th.

2010 Grand Prix

Liz Whitfield was the 2010 Ladies Grand Prix Champion.  Our highest placed man was Colin Martin in 11th place.
