This is the first race of the Radcliffe AC "3-Day Challenge" (together with a 5 mile cross country and a 5 mile trail race).

It was a new course for 2011. There was a very steep climb (hand over hand required...), followed by a run across tussocks, all in the first 2 miles. The route is more runnable after that.
Category: BS, 5.5 miles, 1100ft climb.
Race venue: Waggon & Horses pub, 360 Bolton Rd, Hawkshaw, Lancashire, BL8 4JL. The entry form is wrong: the start is 1 mile steady uphill up Hawkshaw Lane from the pub. The finish is 1½ miles down the same road back to the pub.
Entry fee: £3.50 on the day
