Claire House is a 10 bedded hospice for children with life limiting, life threatening conditions from across Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

Located in Bebington on the Wirral, Claire House is a bright, vibrant place of hope.  In addition to caring for our children and young adults, we also focus on the needs of the whole family, providing bereavement and other support for as long as it is needed.  With no guaranteed government funding we need to raise in excess of £2.5 million each year to maintain our present levels of service.

Our specialist nursing team also work in the community through our "Hospice to Home" programme which offers paediatric palliative care in the family home.  With a "Hospice to Home" service also operating from our Liverpool office we are now reaching more families than in previous years and hope to see this grow in other areas too.

Can you run for "Brainwave"?

For over 27 years, Brainwave has been supporting children with a range of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Autism, genetic disorders and development delay.  We have recently opened a centre in Birchwood.

Families from around the UK come to a Brainwave Centre or outreach clinic, where each child is assessed and a Programme of exercises is designed by our therapy team, according to the child’s individual needs.  Parents and carers are shown how to carry out the Programme so that they can undertake it at home, providing a framework so the child may excel and reach their full potential.  This might be the ability to crawl, walk or recognise numbers.
